• Evidence of meeting the Genuine Student (GS) requirement.
• Proof of sufficient financial capacity to cover tuition and living expenses.
• English language proficiency (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL iBT, etc.) as per the course requirement.

• Under current Department of Home Affairs conditions, student visa holders can work up to 48 hours a fortnight when their course of study or training is in session, and without a limit during official breaks.

Admission to a course can take 4 weeks to several months depending on the provider.

Visa processing times are set by the Department of Home Affairs and vary depending on whether you have applied for a VET course, higher education or a research degree, and whether you applied onshore or offshore. No migration agent can influence or speed them up. You can check the current times on the global visa processing times page.

We recommend starting your application at least 6 months before your intended start date, but we can also handle last minute applications.

All international students must meet the English language requirements for both course admission and visa eligibility.

The Department requires the test to take place in a secure testing centre, and does not accept tests delivered completely online, also known as remote-proctored or at-home tests. The Department lists these as examples of online tests it does not accept: CELPIP Online, IELTS Online, LANGUAGECERT Academic Online, MET Digital taken at home, OET@Home and TOEFL iBT Home Edition.

The English language tests approved for Australian visa purposes changed on 7 August 2025, so check the current list on the Department's English language requirements page before you book a test.

If you do not meet the required score, we can help by:

• Arranging package offers so you can improve your English first, then progress to your main course.
• Checking whether you need to provide a test result at all. Some applicants do not, depending on their citizenship or where they completed recent study. We confirm what applies to you.

Yes, but:

• You must comply with your visa conditions and the provider transfer rules under Standard 7 of the National Code.
• If you want to change before completing the first six months of your principal course, your current provider must agree to release you and record that release in PRISMS.
• It is also worth considering your AQF level if you are thinking about changing course, as dropping to a lower level can affect how a change is viewed.
