Migration Queensland Updates 190/491 - April 2023

In today's blog, we will give you updates regarding Migration Queensland.


Migration Queensland has advised that they have successfully nominated 235 applicants for the Business program this Financial year.


The top 5 countries for Business Migration this financial year:

  • China,

  • Iran,

  • Pakistan,

  • Vietnam,

  • Bangladesh.


Migration Queensland received a total quota of 5000 seats for 190 and 491 visas, and so far, they have nominated 2500 applicants.

They have allocated 60% of their total quota to 190 nominations, 40% to 491 nominations, 10% to the Small Business Owner pathway, and 10% to the Graduate pathway.

They have allocated 80% of their total quota to onshore applicants and 20% to offshore applicants.


The top 10 skilled occupations in Queensland for the 190 and 491 nominations have been

  • Chef

  • Software Engineer

  • Café or Restaurant Manager

  • Mechanical Engineer

  • Civil Engineer

  • Resident Medical Officer

  • ICT business Analyst

  • Quantity Surveyor

  • Cook

  • Developer Programmer


Migration Queensland has invited 'decision-ready applications' who have registered through their recent 'consideration for priority processing' campaigns. A new registration campaign will open from Monday, 3 April - Monday, 10 April 2023, and you or your migration agent can register your existing Skill Select EOI and details through their website. This is the 3rd Priority processing campaign they will run this financial year.

Please note that only those meeting Queensland's minimum criteria will be invited. Invited applicants must have their documents ready and uploaded within seven days of being invited, and no extensions will be granted.

Migration Queensland's processing times are currently 4 – 6 weeks from the date of your invitation.
