In this blog, we will talk about All States and Territories regarding 190 and 491 Visas.
We discuss the following topics in this blog:
How many seats are allocated for All states and Territories?
Which States got the highest number of additional seats for 190 visas?
Which states did not receive additional seats?

If you are applying for NSW 491 Pathway 2 in which, you need to be invited to apply by Investment NSW.
For this pathway, minimum point scores and years of skilled work experience do not apply.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

491 | 3180 | 5300 | 2120 |

In a recent update on their website, SA announced their new allocation of 8000 places and mentioned that their program would continue to nominate General Skilled Migration (GSM) applicants in all streams, including offshore. We hope to see many invites for a 491 visa in the new year with additional 2120 places.

Tasmania has been allocated 900 extra places for a 491 visa. The new Migration Tasmania Application Gateway is now open for registrations of interest and applications for skilled visa nomination from Tasmania. Anyone seeking Tasmanian nomination for a subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional or subclass 190 Skilled Nominated visa must now first register in the Application Gateway. They have also clarified that to claim gold or green attributes related to employment, the role must be skilled ANZSCO Skill Level 1, 2, or 3. Some priority attributes related to pay and salary have also been added recently.

| 11400 | 14900 | 3500 |
Victoria has received the highest number of places for the 190 visa program. The state has been given 2500 additional seats for 190 and 1000 additional seats for 491 visas recently. We have seen many invites from Victoria for all occupations and hope to see a lot more in the new year.
The next nomination selection round for Victoria will take place in January 2023.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
WA | Old Quota | New Quota | Additional Seats |
190 | 5350 | 5350 | 0 |
491 | 2790 | 2790 | 0 |
| 8140 | 8140 | 0 |
Western Australia has not been given any additional seats and has a total of 8140 seats for this financial year. We have noticed that the State has recently issued 5000 invites and has already sent about 16000 invites for this year. This may have happened because many invites would have been wasted, and applicants may not have lodged nomination applications for many previous invites.
